Also commonly refered to as a road grader, motor grader, or blade, is a type of self-propelled heavy equipment used to create a smooth surface. For winter operations they may be equipped with a front plow blade and/or a wing plow blade in addition to the standard blade mounted behind the steering axle. This equipment is traditionally used in deeper snow and to remove snow or ice pack.
